Programming: YouTube Keyword Scanner for Autodesk

Our customer Autodesk asked us to develop a web solution for regular YouTube video feeds on 20 special topics. For this project, we chose an automated approach. 

Having one employee browse through YouTube postings regularly on a large range of topics, e.g. "Autodesk Design Suite" or "Autodesk visualisation", seemed far too costly and time-consuming. Therefore, we decided to programme a lightweight application based on the PHP Zend Framework. The application automatically conducts bi-weekly searches on all topics via the public YouTube API and sends an email with the top 20 results for each topic to a member of our team. Content that is obviously obsolete is automatically removed from the hit lists.

The automatic YouTube scanner issues regular reminders to the development team to perform a quick manual check on the search results and update the website with the latest videos.
